Adidas Stan Smith golf shoes released for 2021 Masters Dustin Johnson's 'Secret Weapon' at the masters

Just days before the 2021 Masters tournament, Adidas golf today has released a new Stan Smith golf shoe. A teaser video has also been released with current masters champion and Adidas staffer Dustin Johnson and legendary US tennis star and long-time Adidas collaborator Stan Smith.

In a classic marketing take-over strategy, the teaser video features the two talking about Dustin's bid to emulate Smith's 100 career wins himself, with Smith sending him the tennis-inspired golf shoe. If Johnson does wear the shoe this week at the Masters it will be one of the fashion talking points of the world's biggest golf event, watched by millions of people worldwide.

Cardigan and tie -- Thomas tops British Open fashion stakes

Justin Thomas looked the part in the first round of the British Open thanks to an impressive score of 67, and also due to his outfit of a navy blue cardigan and matching tie. The emerging 24-year-old star raised eyebrows on the course at Royal Birkdale with an unusual ensemble for a golfer. "It feels good. It's nice to have people talking about that. Obviously I knew it was going to get a lot of publicity out there," said Thomas, the world number 13. "But I didn't come here to dress well. I came here to try to play some good golf. And I guess that just happened." He added: "This is a golf shirt, so it's not like it's uncomfortable. And obviously it's not tight."

What happens if I ground my club in a bunker? The new rules of golf explained

In 2020, the US Golf Association (USGA) and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) made several changes to the rules of golf.

One major change was to the "drop procedure" when a ball is lost or out of bounds. Players are now allowed to drop the ball from shoulder height, rather than knee height, making the process more consistent and less prone to mistakes. Another change was to the rule regarding penalty strokes. Players will no longer be penalized for accidentally moving a ball on the green, such as when marking or lifting it.

Additionally, players are now allowed to repair almost any damage to the course, such as spike marks on the green. The changes also include simplifying the rules for bunkers, allowing players to touch or move loose impediments...

On the course this past weekend, I putt from just off the green and my ball struck my playing partners ball, knocking it closer to the hole.
