It's heating up here in Japan! but not before we have to deal with the rainy season! Of course, we would like to go with spikeless as the lightweight summer style and we have put together a collection of 10 golf shoes that will be effective in the rainy season and still look cool on the fairways in the summer scorching months.

Skechers have up their golf shoe game this year with  'Slip-ins: GO GOLF Elite 5' (pictured above). A unisex line of super comfortable shoes, their comfort tech includes a 'Heel pillow', which is perfect for people who have sensitive feet. They look great with trousers as well as shorts and one design feature we liked was the grooves around the shoe giving it a sleek look and making them easy to clean.

This upgrade to the Japan Hyperflex model has a very funky styling, particularly with the colors and Dual WRPAID BOA system. Improvements were made to the overall fit, with Each WRPAID and BOA Lace interlocked to fit the shape of the foot for better comfort and performance. Other features include a control plate structure aiming for stability, and a 3-layer midsole which gives the 'Hyperflex' and more cushioning. And amazingly you can get up to size 30cm in Japan!

This season on the course in Japan we are seeing a gravitation to more traditional styles, and the saddle design unique to FootJoy is surely classical golf shoes. Despite looking heavy these shoes have amazing lightness, fit, and comfort. The upper is waterproof, using a waterproof smooth artificial leather, and The EVA super cushion foam used in the midsole provides flexibility and balance.

ECCO certainly has a reputation as being one of the shoemakers on the higher end of the spectrum. Classicly inspired, the Original grand saddle has the typical Cole Haan Oxford styling, so much so that we have seen some trendy salarymen rocking them to the office. The insole has memory foam making it very comfortable for walking, and the spikeless sole gives grip and performance during a round. Be warned however you do need to be careful with the white leather as they do tend to mark easily.

As far as spikeless shoes go, this one is the one with the most 'spikes' on the sole, with injected, softer rubber spikes in key areas for lockdown traction. the criss-cross design is cool and does provide great support and combined with the IntelliKnit material,  provides a lightweight and summer vibes look which is cool.

Nike is reminding you to 'Keep it fresh always' with these Georgia peach-inspired shoes, as seen by many a tour player during the US Open this year. This classic Nike AIR ZOOM spiked shoe is a classic now, and is the perfect summer shoe for the golfer who just needs the performance of a fully spiked shoe.

Jordan ADG 4

We have not seen too many Jordan Golf shoes available in Japan, but the new Jordan ADG 4 's look great, infusing a classic shoe, with the Jordan silhouette in a retro flavor on the heel. Supple, full-grain leather shows off the iconic elephant print on the heel. The rubber sole has an integrated traction pattern that perfectly pairs the grip you need with the versatility and comfort you want.

On the course this past weekend, I putt from just off the green and my ball struck my playing partners ball, knocking it closer to the hole.

What happens if I ground my club in a bunker? The new rules of golf explained

In 2020, the US Golf Association (USGA) and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) made several changes to the rules of golf.

One major change was to the "drop procedure" when a ball is lost or out of bounds. Players are now allowed to drop the ball from shoulder height, rather than knee height, making the process more consistent and less prone to mistakes. Another change was to the rule regarding penalty strokes. Players will no longer be penalized for accidentally moving a ball on the green, such as when marking or lifting it.

Additionally, players are now allowed to repair almost any damage to the course, such as spike marks on the green. The changes also include simplifying the rules for bunkers, allowing players to touch or move loose impediments...

Now in its second year, the DP World Tour ISPS Handa Championship will be played at the Taiheiyo Club Gotemba Course in Shizuoka. The star-studded event will be hotly contested, with a $2.25 million prize pool up for grabs as well as 'Race to Dubai' ranking points. Among the European players are top-ranked Matthieu Pavon, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Matteo Manassero, and Jordan Gumberg.
