Tiger debuts at the TGL Match Preview: Jupiter Links GC vs. Los Angeles GC

The second match of the TGL presented by SoFi kicks off tonight at 9am featuring Jupiter Links Golf Club (JLGC) against Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). Both teams make their TGL debut on a custom-designed, 15-hole course at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with live coverage on ESPN and ESPN+.

Lineups

Jupiter Links boasts an elite trio led by TGL co-founder Tiger Woods, whose 82 PGA TOUR wins and 15 major championships highlight his unmatched resume. He is joined by Ryder Cup star Max Homa and match play specialist Kevin Kisner. Together, they bring a wealth of match play success, including Woods’ record-breaking performances at the WGC-Dell Match Play.

LAGC counters with a formidable lineup featuring Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose, two-time major winner Collin Morikawa, and rising star Sahith Theegala. With an average Official World Golf Ranking of 19, LAGC leads TGL in fairway accuracy and scrambling percentage, positioning them as a tough opponent.

Match Format

The match consists of two sessions:

  • Triples (Holes 1-9): Alternate-shot format with all three players.
  • Singles (Holes 10-15): Head-to-head, one-on-one play, with each golfer playing two full holes.

JLGC starts the match with possession of the "Hammer," a strategic advantage for first tee-off decisions.

Key Matchups

Expect fireworks as Woods and Morikawa, two of the greatest approach players in PGA TOUR history, face off. Additionally, Homa and Theegala revisit their 2024 Presidents Cup rivalry on the final hole, "Spear," a challenging 586-yard par-5.
