Titleist has just opened the first fully outdoor, tour-level fitting facility in Japan—and it looks set to completely raise the bar for golf club fitting in the country.

Located at The Country Club Japan in Kisarazu, Chiba, the brand-new Titleist Fitting Center officially opened its doors on July 2, 2025. This is not your typical indoor simulator experience. At this facility, you can take full shots onto a sprawling 300-yard outdoor range, with the ball flight fully visible from takeoff to landing. It’s the kind of setup you’d usually only find on professional tours or at Titleist’s global headquarters.

A Game-Changing Fitting Experience

What makes this fitting center truly special is its outdoor design combined with cutting-edge technology. Launch monitors and advanced ball tracking systems capture every detail of your swing and ball flight, but the key difference here is that you’re seeing the actual ball flight in real time, not just a virtual projection.

Titleist’s fitting specialists offer personalized, one-on-one sessions across four main categories:

  • Drivers and fairway woods (long game)

  • Irons and utility clubs

  • Wedges

  • Full-bag fittings

All fitting sessions are by appointment only, ensuring dedicated attention from experienced professionals who guide you through the process of dialing in your equipment.

Another unique aspect of the facility is that all fittings use the Titleist Pro V1 series golf balls—the same ones used on tour. This helps deliver highly accurate fitting results that translate directly to on-course performance. You’re not just comparing numbers; you can also feel the differences in ball contact, hear the sound of impact, and watch the ball’s trajectory as you test different setups.

A Real-World Wedge Fitting Experience

One of the standout features is the outdoor wedge fitting area, which includes a bunker and an approach zone where you can hit a variety of short game shots. It’s a rare chance to compare wedges in live conditions—feeling the turf interaction, spin, and performance on bunker shots, not just from mats.

This level of detail and customization is typically reserved for elite players, but the new Titleist Fitting Center is making this experience available to all golfers in Japan who want to get the most out of their equipment.
