I found this course very attractive with its mixture of woody inland holes and palm tree framed sea views. We started on one of the two 9 hole courses (Muroto) and the staff were flexible enough to switch us to the front 9 of the 18 hole Asizuri course, so we could play through and finish before the forecast rain started. I spent far too much time in the huge flat fairway bunkers, but somehow the tall gently swaying palms took the sting out of it. There was also the constant graceful presence of Kites riding the breezes above us, a few (we learned from Google later) white bellied green pigeons and a deer calmly grazing on one of the nicely manicured tee boxes. The par five 8th on Asizuri is a beauty (though I made a hash of it) with a gently uphill tee shot, an inviting lay up to the edge of a water feature, then a wedge over the water to a lightbulb-shaped green. Oh, and my late lunch was a perfect local Bonito set course in a restaurant that wouldn't be out of place overlooking Waikiki beach.

Being a favorite course in Shikoku, we had the most trouble landing a tee time here. Definitely make your reservation in advance if possible. On our golf day, we were very happy with the welcome we received here. They have not had that many internationals play here yet, but we hope golfers from around Japan will come to Kochi and try this course. Definitely recommend the food at the Royal Hotel Tosa (I liked the view there too although the hotel itself is a bit on the run down side) and making sure to have dinner at Sea House restaurant nearby. This would be about a 30 minute drive from Kochi airport.

On the course this past weekend, I putt from just off the green and my ball struck my playing partners ball, knocking it closer to the hole.

In 2020, the US Golf Association (USGA) and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) made several changes to the rules of golf.

One major change was to the "drop procedure" when a ball is lost or out of bounds. Players are now allowed to drop the ball from shoulder height, rather than knee height, making the process more consistent and less prone to mistakes. Another change was to the rule regarding penalty strokes. Players will no longer be penalized for accidentally moving a ball on the green, such as when marking or lifting it.

Additionally, players are now allowed to repair almost any damage to the course, such as spike marks on the green. The changes also include simplifying the rules for bunkers, allowing players to touch or move loose impediments...
