It was sensational viewing though with world No.1 Jon Rahm and Ozzie Mullet sensation Cam Smith going toe-to-toe for the final 2 days, the tournament producing some impressive low scores, not once, not twice, but trice for a new course record of 61 (made by Thomas, Rahm and Jones respectively) It was almost as good as Tiger and Charlie contenting in the PNC before Christmas…. Well almost.
It was however an eye-opener and a statement of intent if you will, for the upper echelons of golf’s top dogs. As we witnessed the winner, Smith, play a freewheeling style...
